ON THE AIR

Steve Mullin

Was born and raised in Cartwright, MB on the far western boundary of the Pembina Valley region, and is now excited to be living in Morden with his wife Morgan and son Tyson.  Steve is a die hard sports fan and loves listening to every inning of Blue Jays baseball and every quarter of Bomber football. Steve is on the go all winter spending most evenings in a hockey rink somewhere in Manitoba.

Join Steve Mullin for the morning show 6-10 every weekday morning, and for the Daily Chuckle and the Trading Post at 11:30

Tyler Hildebrand

Howdy folks!  Radio has been a part of the family ever since I can remember.  I started working for CKMW about 3 years ago, starting off doing the part time evening shift and now, as you know, doing the mid-day shift from 10-2 every week-day.  When I'm not chatting on air, I take care of the production around the studio.  Outside of work, I'm a huge sports fan and enjoy playing hockey, baseball and football.

If you want to hear a song, wish a birthday or anything else, just send me an e-mail to

Wayne Lamb

1995 and a full head of hair seems like yesterday.

My first real job began in downtown Moose Jaw in the old CHAB building looking out the window on a cold January morning. We played songs off CD and commercials off 8-track tapes. It was the same year an unknown Shania Twain stopped into the studio to drop-off her first album. It was my day off and nobody called. (Thanks a lot, guys.)

It's been great to be a part of the CKMW team...Bev and I keep busy with our 2 girls Cassie and Hailey and our little guy Lawson.

Join me weekday afternoons from 2-6 for the best country music!

NEWS

Chris Sumner

I've been in the radio business since early 2000, and have had the opportunity to hold a number of positions including afternoon announcer, music director, farm broadcaster, and now News Director at CKMW. I've been with Golden West Radio since early 2004, and after a break away from radio for just over a year, returned in June 2009. I'm looking forward to covering local events across the Pembina Valley.

When I'm not reading or writing the latest local news, weather, and sports I enjoy golfing, reading, and bike riding. I also spend some of my time coaching minor sports such as baseball and soccer.

Seeing how CKMW is your sports leader, it's fitting I love the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Blue Jays. My favourite sport is basketball, and you'd be hard pressed to find a bigger Toronto Raptors fan.

Matt Friesen

Matt is our Sports Director and afternoon news anchor .  A graduate of the Western Academy of Broadcasting College in Saskatoon, he joined the Golden West Radio news team in February 2003.  He enjoys all aspects of life, especially cheering his heart out for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.  Matt's also a perennially disappointed Toronto Maple Leafs fan.  When Matt isn't spending time at the rink as the voice of the Winkler Flyers, he enjoys family time with his wife Patti and their children Hannah and Jackson.

Matt would love to get your local sports score on the air at quarter after every hour on CKMW.  Email him at  or call 325-9506.

Pam Fedack

A Golden West Radio employee for several years, Pam Fedack started as a weekend and evening announcer, operating ball games for CKMW and then moved into the news department.  Pam and her husband Johnathon are avid Blue Bomber fans and have trained their children Nathaniel and Georgia to back the Blue and Gold.  Listen for Pam as she covers local news events.

Vickie Addison

As the newest member of Golden West's new team, reporter Vickie Addison is having a blast learning the ins and outs of the broadcasting world.  She is a Morden native and loves being able to work in an area that she has come to love so much!  In her spare time Vickie enjoys being involved with the local theatre company, golfing horribly (the golfing that is, not doing it horribly), and spending time with her greatest achievement --son Logan.
